We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support Human Resources operations within a federal environment. In this role, you will provide administrative, clerical, and program support to ensure efficient HR operations while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance standards.
This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability, exposure to federal HR programs, and the ability to support sensitive personnel operations.

- Provide front desk support and manage phone and visitor interactions
- Handle sensitive documents in compliance with Privacy Act and confidentiality requirements
- Greeting visitors to the PMA HR SSC
- Initiate and process employee awards including Certificates or Service and the Gold Star Awards
- Manage calendars, meetings, and HR leadership scheduling
- Monitor shared inboxes and respond or route inquiries appropriately
- Assist with travel coordination and documentation using Concur
- Maintain personnel files, records, and HR documentation
- Support HR processes including training tracking, performance actions, and reporting
- As the HC Content Editor for PMA HR SSC, make appropriate updates on DOE’s HCNET.
- Prepare reports, presentations, forms, and correspondence
- Maintain organizational charts, directories, and internal HR web content
- Coordinate interviews, including scheduling, setting up interview rooms, contacting candidates and coordinating travel for non-Federal interviewees
- Additional clerical and administrative duties as assigned
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or related field
- Experience supporting environmental compliance, remediation, or engineering projects
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to analyze data and prepare technical documentation
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience supporting federal or government facilities
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g. CERCLA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, SPCC, NPDES)
- Experience with environmental data systems or GIS tools
- Experience managing or supporting multi-site projects
- Office-based role within a federal facility
- Standard Monday–Friday schedule during core business hours (excluding federal holidays)
- Work involves frequent interaction with employees, leadership, and external stakeholders
- Requires handling of sensitive HR and personnel data at all times
- May require occasional support for meetings, events, or deadlines outside normal workflow priorities
- Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking, prioritization, and attention to detail
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (Secret / Top Secret / Public Trust)
- Employment is contingent upon successful background investigation and PIV card issuance
