Blackie's is looking for a talented Sous Chef who wants to be part of a kitchen that values quality, consistency, creativity, and teamwork. We're searching for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, from-scratch environment and takes pride in building great food and even better teams.
This is more than an "assistant chef" position. You'll be a daily leader on the line, a coach for the team, and a key partner in executing our culinary vision.
What You'll Do
- Lead and inspire the kitchen team during service.
- Ensure every plate meets our standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Coach, develop, and hold cooks accountable through positive leadership.
- Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, food costing, and labor management.
- Maintain exceptional food safety and sanitation standards.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef on menu execution, features, and operational improvements.
- Jump into any station when needed and lead by example.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has previous leadership experience as a Sous Chef or strong Kitchen Manager.
- Is calm, organized, and decisive under pressure.
- Has a genuine passion for cooking and hospitality.
- Understands systems, prep, organization, and execution.
- Communicates clearly and professionally.
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Loves developing people and building a strong team culture.
- Is dependable, humble, and driven to improve every day.
