Duties
- Conduct thorough virtual assessments to evaluate student’ motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive functions, etc.
- Develop personalized plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions for diverse populations in the school setting.
- Guide students and caregivers through therapeutic exercises and adaptive strategies via secure telehealth platforms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, teachers, and case managers—to optimize student outcomes.
- Manage caseloads efficiently by documenting soap notes, progress notes, and updating IEPs.
Experience
- Proven experience working as an occupational therapist in the school setting.
- Hands-on experience with school-based therapy for pediatric populations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities across various environments
- Familiarity with case management processes and developing comprehensive IEPs tailored to individual needs.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and speech therapy fundamentals relevant to occupational therapy practice.
- Previous telehealth or virtual therapy experience is preferred but not required; strong communication skills are essential for success in a remote setting.
