Position Summary
The RN Nursing Supervisor provides leadership and oversight for the nursing department at the Golden Glades Group Home. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centered nursing care while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, agency, and licensing regulations.
The Nursing Supervisor works collaboratively with physicians, direct support professionals, therapists, case managers, and other interdisciplinary team members to support positive health outcomes and continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department.
- Ensure compliance with Florida nursing regulations, healthcare standards, and agency policies.
- Coordinate medical care for individuals receiving residential services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized healthcare plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor clinical documentation, medication administration, and quality assurance activities.
- Participate in program development, strategic planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with staff education, training, and competency evaluations.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment for individuals served.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience with pediatric and adult populations.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other special needs populations.
- Minimum of one (1) year in an administrative or nursing leadership role.
- At least three (3) years of direct nursing supervisory experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of case management experience.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible nursing leadership experience.
- Experience in residential healthcare, long-term care, or nonprofit healthcare settings.
- Experience with quality assurance, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
