Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Pay Rate: $19/hour
Schedule:
Approximately 25-30 hours per week (schedule may vary)
General hours between 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

About the Role
We're looking for compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our Tailored Day Services team. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll provide individualized, one-on-one support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings. You'll help each individual build independence, develop life skills, pursue personal goals, and actively participate in their community through meaningful activities based on their unique interests and person-centered plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals receiving Tailored Day Services in community-based settings.
- Assist participants in achieving individualized goals that promote independence, community integration, and personal growth.
- Support individuals during community outings, recreational activities, volunteer opportunities, appointments, and other person-centered activities.
- Teach and reinforce daily living, social, communication, and independent living skills in real-world environments.
- Encourage community participation while fostering choice, self-advocacy, and meaningful relationships.
- Transport participants safely using company vehicles to and from scheduled community activities.
- Provide personal care assistance as needed while maintaining each individual's dignity and privacy.
- Document participant progress, daily activities, and any significant events in accordance with company policies and regional center requirements.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and supportive environment while adapting activities to meet each participant's abilities, preferences, and support needs.
- Safely push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds and assist participants with mobility as needed.
- Work outdoors and in a variety of community environments and weather conditions while ensuring participant safety and engagement.
- Creative and self-driven—comfortable taking initiative in unstructured settings
- Flexible and adaptable to a mix of indoor and outdoor environments
- Compassionate, patient, and skilled at building positive relationships
- Comfortable leading or supporting group activities with enthusiasm
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old (to qualify for company auto insurance)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record, DMV Printout required
- Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Experience:
- Mentoring: 1 year (Preferred)
