Definition and Basic Function: The Pathway Services Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the management and supervision of all aspects of the Pathway Program.
Accountability: Direct accountability to the Director of Programs
Responsibility:
A. Programming
1. Provide age and functionally appropriate program activities that include assistance, training, and support for the acquisition of functional skills, personal needs, communication, and personal adjustment.
2. Oversee the preparation of quarterly ISP Reviews, annual assessments, and other forms within correct time frames.
3. Ensure attendance at scheduled ISP review meetings.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of individual goal plans and planned program activities.
5. Ensure the implementation of ISP through programmatic activities.
6. Communicate progress and concerns of the individuals to the Director of Programs as needed/required.
7. Document progress for all individuals through assessments, behavior support plans and case notes.
8. Maintain records of staff documentation according to organizational protocols.
9. Assist in all aspects of the annual licensing process.
10. Track attendance of individuals in standardized format.
11. Create meaningful community integration activities for individuals.
12. Fulfill roles and responsibilities as assigned in HCSIS.
13. Oversee and complete Program Specialist duties as needed and assigned.
B. Personal Care
1. Assist individuals with personal care and supervision, as outlined in their Individual
Support Plan, as needed or directed by an ISP.
C. Medical
1. Report medical observations and concerns to designated agency personnel.
2. Document seizures, incidents, etc., on appropriate forms.
3. Administer medications to the individuals as prescribed (after becoming trained in
medication administration).
4. Ensure the individual physicals and immunizations are completed and up to date.
D. Supervision
1. Provide initial orientation and ongoing supervision for Direct Support Professionals, Lead Staff, Program Specialists, Activity Aids, and volunteers.
2. Provide ongoing encouragement and feedback to all staff and volunteers.
3. Report staffing issues/concerns to the Director of Programs and/or the Director of Human Resources.
4. Complete Performance Appraisals of employees in a complete, accurate, and timely fashion (at least two weeks prior to appraisal date) for review by the Director of Programs, and Director of Human Resources.
5. Coordinate scheduling to meet required levels of staffing.
6. Ensure required documentation is completed.
7. Oversee the administration of medication and certification in the program.
8. Ensure that staff receive and maintain trainings, certifications, and other employment requirements.
E. Other
1. Transport individuals to and from activities and appointments, using Jessica & Friends Community and/or personal vehicle.
2. Schedule and oversee general group activities for the individuals.
3. Handle emergencies based on organizational protocols.
4. Serve on various committees either as a volunteer or appointed member.
5. Work with the Director of Finance to create, implement, and monitor all income/expense items in the Pathway Program budget.
6. Maintain petty cash account.
7. Monitor monthly fire frills and required documentation.
8. Maintain the general upkeep of the program and company vehicles.
9. Participate in and/or facilitate staff meetings, trainings, and inservices as scheduled.
10. Participate in at least twenty-four hours of training annually, as required by regulations.
11. Interview applicants for open positions, and initiate hiring processes when appropriate.
12. All other duties as assigned and instructed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
The Pathway Services Program Manager shall have one of the following groups of qualifications:
1. A master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and one year work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities.
2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities.
3. An associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and four years work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities.
4. Must be at least 18 years of age, and have a valid PA Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience. The Program Manager must maintain a clean driving record that meets the requirements for driving permission under Jessica & Friends’ Vehicle policy.
5. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
6. Must maintain criminal clearances, driving licensing, physical fitness for duty, and pass substance screenings to qualify for and remain qualified for the Program Manager positions
The Program Manager should also be an organized person with strong work ethics and values. This employee must embrace the mission, vision and Statement of Faith of Jessica and Friends Community.
Work Schedule: The Pathway Program Manager schedule is 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM primarily. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary. It is expected that managers may work on short notice in the event of an emergency.
