Position Summary:
Plan, coordinate and perform audio and visual equipment maintenance operations within assigned area. Ensure uninterrupted hospital audio and visual equipment operations by promoting preventive and predictive maintenance, lead and/or guide staff as required. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
- EQUIPMENT - Set up, operate, and dismantle AV equipment like microphones, speakers, video cameras, projectors and paging system; this includes tasks like running cables, connecting system, and conducting pre-event tests; Data and Coax cable termination
- REPAIR - Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment to ensure optimal performance; this includes managing equipment inventory and performing routine maintenance
- MONITOR - Monitor and adjust audio, video, and lighting during live events to ensure quality and a seamless experience for the audience; this often requires working under pressure and coordinating with other personnel
- CONSULT - Consult with clients to determine their AV requirements and provide technical support during events; some roles also involve training staff or clients on how to use the equipment properly
- SYSTEMS - Design and implement AV systems for new or existing spaces, ensuring all components integrate correctly
- PROBLEM-SOLVING - The ability to quickly and effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues, often on the spot
- QUALITY - A keen eye for image and sound quality is crucial for ensuring a professional and high-quality output

- Valid New Mexico Driver's License
- UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit w/in 60 days
Physical Conditions:
Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
