Member Duties : National Mental Health Corps (NMHC) AmeriCorps Volunteers serve alongside community organizations to expand access to mental health education, prevention, and support services. At SC Empowerment Centre, members support youth mental health and empowerment through school-based and community programming. Members facilitate mental health education and prevention trainings, including Teen Mental Health First Aid and QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training, for students and community groups. Volunteers also support after-school programming, youth engagement activities, and outreach efforts that promote emotional wellness, resilience, and help-seeking behaviors. Through relationship-building, education, and community collaboration, members help create supportive environments where young people can thrive while strengthening local mental health resources.
