- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policy.

Monitor and document resident responses to medications and treatments.

Perform wound care and dressing changes using aseptic techniques.

Take and record vital signs; observe and report changes in resident condition.

Maintain accurate and timely resident records and documentation.
-
Educate residents on procedures and self-care to promote comfort and cooperation.

Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Order medications and supplies as needed.

Count and record controlled substances at shift changes.

Supervise nursing staff during evening and overnight shifts.

Participate in departmental meetings, in-service training, and continuing education.

Assume Head Nurse duties when necessary.

Report resident or employee concerns promptly to the ADON on duty.

Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Minimum of one year nursing experience, preferably in geriatrics.

Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor.

Ability to work effectively with elderly residents.

Satisfactory references.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently; occasionally up to 100 lbs.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

Exposure to standard healthcare environmental conditions (e.g., odors, chemicals, temperature fluctuations).
- Experience in long-term care or senior living settings.

Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Ability to supervise and lead nursing staff effectively.
The Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care tailored to the individual needs of residents and supports medical care as directed by the medical staff. This role involves direct care, medication administration, documentation, and supervision of nursing personnel.
