Job Summary
The Crusher Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and safety of crushing plant equipment and personnel. This role ensures production targets are met while maintaining compliance with safety regulations, equipment specifications, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of crusher operators, laborers, and maintenance staff
- Monitor crushing, screening, and conveying equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation
- Schedule and assign daily tasks to crew members based on production goals
- Perform routine inspections of crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues; coordinate repairs with maintenance team
- Ensure adequate feed material and manage stockpile levels
- Monitor product gradation and quality; adjust equipment settings as needed
- Enforce MSHA/OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies
- Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and safety records
- Train new employees on equipment operation and safety procedures
- Communicate production status, issues, and needs to plant management
- Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained throughout the crushing area
- Respond to and manage equipment downtime to minimize production loss
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in aggregate, mining, or quarry operations, including crusher operation
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of crushing, screening, and conveying systems
- Familiarity with MSHA regulations and safety compliance
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting knowledge
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to walk, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at heights and around heavy equipment
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
