American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatrics ambulatory position requiring pediatric GI nursing experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
-
Work in the Pediatrics department of a teaching hospital in an ambulatory/outpatient clinic setting
-
Patient population includes pediatric GI, triage, and general pediatric cases
-
Uses Epic EMR system
-
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
-
May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs

Active RN license (Compact or single-state) required
-
Active OR RN license required for consideration

Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
-
Minimum 1 year of pediatric GI or GI nursing experience required
-
Previous experience in ambulatory nursing required
-
Previous triage experience required
-
Epic EMR charting experience required
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Prior travel nursing experience required

Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
-
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting
-
Intermediate computer skills including EHR navigation and email use
-
Responsibilities include patient assessment, triage, medication administration, specimen collection, venipuncture/phlebotomy, and patient education
-
Duties also include chart preparation, referrals, telephone triage, medication refills, and assisting with sterile procedure setups

Vital signs, pain assessment, medication reconciliation, and interpretation of lab results are part of daily duties

Floating to affiliate hospitals nearby may be required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation

Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months are required; charge RN references are not accepted

Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must provide a reference from their OHSU supervisor

Returning staff must have a gap of 6+ months before returning as a traveler
-
COVID vaccination proof is required with no exemptions
-
Requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks

Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
-
13-week minimum contract length required
