Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HVAC/Mechanical Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for HVAC and mechanical systems on a variety of commercial and industrial projects. Your expertise will help ensure competitive pricing, effective project planning, and successful project execution from bid to completion. Duties
- Prepare comprehensive HVAC and mechanical system estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents using advanced estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop accurate pricing strategies that align with project scope and budget expectations.
- Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs for ductwork, piping, equipment, and other mechanical components utilizing Bluebeam and other digital tools.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Review construction contracts, scope of work documents, and project schedules to ensure estimates reflect all necessary costs including labor, materials, equipment, permits, and overhead.
- Assist in cost control measures during project execution by monitoring budgets, tracking changes, and updating estimates accordingly.
- Contribute to the development of bid proposals by compiling detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation for submission.
- Maintain thorough records of all estimating activities, including assumptions, calculations, and correspondence for future reference.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on HVAC or mechanical systems within commercial or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management practices, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with construction estimating software such as HeavyBid; proficiency in Bluebeam is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs from digital plans and drawings.
- Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to achieve favorable terms.
- Experience in cost control throughout the project lifecycle to ensure profitability and adherence to budgets.
- Prior involvement in projects requiring detailed pricing strategies, contract review, and project management coordination is preferred. Pay: $80,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
