Responsibilities - What you’ll do
What you’ll do: This role is essential in the administration of specialized and complex financial tasks for the Attorney Enrollment department. Responsibilities include preparation, processing, and reconciling financial information and the maintenance of membership data related to billing, accounts receivable, and financial reporting activities. This position also helps support the Clerk of the Court in responsibilities as treasurer for The Missouri Bar and the Supreme Court Advisory Committee Fund accounts, along with maintaining the official roll of attorneys.
As part of the department’s succession planning strategy, the Assistant Director develops a broad understanding of operations, takes part in leadership decision-making, and serves as a resource for future departmental needs.

o Partner with director to identify operational challenges and process improvement opportunities.
o Assists in developing and implementing long-term strategies that support department goals.
o Builds institutional knowledge across finance and administrative functions to support leadership succession.
o Analyze complex financial and operational issues, developing practical solutions.
o Resolve discrepancies, workflow issues, and compliance concerns.
o Partner in special projects involving department and system enhancements.
o Prepare, process, and reconcile financial information.
o Review the preparation of financial and statistical statements, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
o Assist in administrative and financial strategies that align with departmental objectives.
o Participate and monitor internal controls to help ensure compliance.
o Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of financial management, analysis, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Ability to think beyond immediate tasks and contribute towards process improvements.
- Ability to interpret data and use information to support sound decisions and problem solve.
- Proficient in accounting software, database management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including customer service experience.
- Ability to balance day-to-day operational needs with long-term strategic goals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications - All you need for success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Minimum of five years of experience in accounting, finance, business related field.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
