Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced In-Home Caregiver to provide one-on-one care for an elderly male in his home in North Little Rock, Ar. The ideal candidate is patient, trustworthy, and committed to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life while ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment. This position requires someone who is physically capable of assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), enjoys building meaningful relationships, and is dedicated to providing exceptional care. The positon is not a W-2 pay; 1099/ private pay.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, and respirations, reporting any significant changes promptly.
- Administer medications as prescribed and document all medications given according to the client's care plan.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily care, medication administration, vital signs, observations, and any changes in the client's condition.
- Provide mobility assistance, transfers, repositioning, and lifting as needed while following safe body mechanics.
- Provide transportaion as needed if requested.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, changing linens, and maintaining a clean and organized home.
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Observe and report changes in physical, cognitive, or emotional status to the family or designated healthcare provider.
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare providers regarding the client's care and progress.
- Follow all privacy, safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of professional caregiving experience caring for elderly clients in a home care, assisted living, nursing home, or healthcare setting.
- Ability to successfully pass a state and national background check.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable personal vehicle with current automobile insurance.
- Ability to safely lift, transfer, reposition, and assist clients with activities of daily living.
- Experience taking and documenting vital signs and administering medications.
- Strong communication, documentation, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) certification.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience caring for individuals with neurological consitions; dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke recovery, or other age-related conditions.
- Experience using gait belts, transfer techniques, Hoyer lifts, and other mobility assistance equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and assist with transfers of up to 80 pounds or more using proper body mechanics.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
