Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Residential Service Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electrical systems in residential settings, ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Responsibilities
- Perform electrical diagnostics to identify issues within residential electrical systems using hand tools, multimeters, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, EV chargers, panel upgrades, generators and high-voltage electrical systems in homes.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting.
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and safety procedures to guarantee safe operation.
- Conduct renovations and upgrades on existing electrical systems while adhering to construction site safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical problems involving low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and industrial electrical components when necessary.
- Use power tools and hand tools efficiently to complete installations and repairs with precision.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance records.
- Collaborate with clients to explain work performed and recommend future improvements or maintenance needs.
Experience
- Proven experience as a residential electrician with a strong background in electrical wiring, troubleshooting electrical systems, and reading schematics.
- Prior experience working on industrial or commercial electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with high-voltage electrical wiring and industrial electrical systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, local electrical codes, and safety procedures is essential.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, low voltage wiring, and high voltage systems is preferred.
- Construction site experience including renovation projects is advantageous.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters confidently for troubleshooting purposes.
- Strong skills in the use of power tools, hand tools, and framing carpentry are beneficial for versatile project execution.
