Armed Field Supervisor – Events
Job Type: Part-Time | Non-Exempt
Pay: $28.00–$32.00 per hour DOE
Work Location: Sacramento, CA & Oakland, CA (Approximately 50% travel between office locations and event sites required)
Reports To: Security Operations Manager
Schedule: Open availability required, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Position Overview
Diligence Security Group (DSG) is seeking an experienced Armed Field Supervisor – Events to lead security operations at community events, festivals, concerts, sporting events, corporate functions, government facilities, and other special assignments throughout Northern California. This leadership position is responsible for supervising armed and unarmed security personnel, ensuring officers perform their duties professionally while maintaining compliance with company policies, BSIS regulations, and client expectations. Serving as DSG's primary on-site operational leader, the Armed Field Supervisor will oversee event staffing, conduct pre-shift briefings, inspect officer readiness, monitor field operations, coordinate with clients and emergency responders, respond to incidents, and ensure the safe and successful execution of every assignment. This role also serves as the primary liaison between field personnel, Operations, clients, and public safety partners, ensuring effective communication, operational readiness, and exceptional customer service at every event. The ideal candidate is an experienced armed security professional with exceptional leadership, sound judgment, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple officers in fast-paced environments while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, safety, and service excellence.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervise armed and unarmed security officers during community events, festivals, concerts, sporting events, corporate functions, government facilities, and special assignments.
- Conduct pre-event briefings to review assignments, emergency procedures, client expectations, and operational objectives.
- Coordinate officer assignments, post rotations, meal breaks, and staffing adjustments throughout each event.
- Conduct scheduled and unannounced field inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, BSIS regulations, and client requirements.
- Monitor officer professionalism, appearance, performance, and customer service while providing coaching and corrective guidance when necessary.
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, suspicious activity, medical incidents, and critical situations while coordinating with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and client representatives.
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, supervisor logs, inspection reports, and other operational documentation accurately and on time.
- Inspect uniforms, firearms, body armor, radios, duty gear, and other assigned equipment to ensure officers are operationally ready.
- Serve as DSG's primary on-site representative by maintaining positive relationships with clients, event organizers, vendors, and public safety partners.
- Assist Operations with staffing shortages, emergency deployments, event planning, and post-event evaluations.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
Minimum QualificationsRequired
- Valid California BSIS Guard Card
- Valid California BSIS Firearms Permit
- Valid California Baton Permit
- Current Pepper Spray/OC Certification
- Current CPR/AED & First Aid Certification
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Bilingual (Required)
- Minimum three (3) years of armed security, law enforcement, military, executive protection, corrections, or related public safety experience
- Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or field leadership experience
- Ability to travel between Sacramento, Oakland, and event locations throughout Northern California
- Open availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
Preferred Qualifications
- Former Law Enforcement Officer
- Military Veteran
- Former Corrections Officer
- Experience supervising large-scale public events
- Experience managing armed security personnel
- Experience coordinating with law enforcement and emergency responders
- Strong knowledge of crowd management and incident command principles
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and navigate uneven terrain
- Ability to wear body armor and full duty gear for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles
- Ability to respond rapidly to emergencies and critical incidents
