Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing safe and reliable transportation for passengers, including children and individuals requiring paratransit services. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to manage behavior effectively while ensuring a positive experience for all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a bus or van to transport passengers to designated locations.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking, particularly those with special needs or disabilities.
- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine inspections and minor mechanical maintenance.
- Manage passenger behavior during transit, employing effective behavior management techniques as necessary.
- Communicate clearly with passengers, providing information about routes and schedules.
- Document any incidents or issues that arise during transit, ensuring proper reporting procedures are followed.
Experience
- Previous experience as a bus driver REQUIRED
- Experience working with children or in a paratransit environment is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle operation and maintenance is beneficial.
- Proven ability to write clear reports and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
