Cares for and feeds impounded animals. Maintains animal housing according to sanitary standards; aids in the euthanasia of impounded animals; maintains animal inventory. Assists the public with animal adoptions and with the redemption of their lost animals. Drives to transport animals, feed, and supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of six (6) months of experience in the care and handling of animals in a personal/work capacity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Six (6) months of experience working in a large animal shelter for dogs and cats/livestock, and
- Florida Animal Protection and Advocacy Association (FAPAA) Euthanasia Technician Certification.
