About the Role
SARGAD LLC is seeking a DC-licensed Clinical Psychologist to serve on a hospital's Medication Review Panel, provide psychiatric diagnostic and treatment planning services, and supervise psychology trainees within the hospital's training program.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the psychology expert on the Involuntary Medication Review Panel, evaluating individuals in care for capacity and treatment decision-making
- Conduct psychiatric diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans
- Implement social interventions and least-restrictive approaches to behavioral emergencies
- Support discharge planning and perform quality improvement audits
- Provide clinical supervision to psychology trainees and staff (internship/residency level)
- Evaluate trainees quarterly using the training program's formal evaluation process
- Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings, including guardianship applications
- Maintain patient records and progress notes in the hospital's electronic medical record system
- Complete monthly training reports and quarterly evaluation forms
Required Qualifications
- Active license to practice psychology in the District of Columbia (DC DOH Professional Licensing Administration), in good standing
- Minimum 5 years of experience in inpatient work at a psychiatric hospital
- Minimum 5 years of experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, including co-occurring physical illness and substance use history
- Demonstrated experience evaluating patients for and recommending involuntary medication administration
- Experience supervising psychology trainees at the internship and/or residency level, with expertise teaching Psychological Assessment and/or Psychotherapy
- Ability to obtain and maintain credentials through the hospital's Medical Staff Organization
Preferred
- Prior experience serving on a formal Medication Review Panel or similar clinical review body
- Experience with court-related psychiatric evaluations or guardianship testimony
Pay: $100.00 - $120.00 per hour
