Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Finish Roller Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy equipment to ensure the smooth application of asphalt and concrete finishes on various paving projects. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality surfaces that meet safety standards and project specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and construction experience to make a tangible impact on community development.
Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt rollers safely and efficiently during paving operations, as well as other other heavy equipment such as excavator and loaders.
- Achieve proper density and a smooth finished surface.
- Manage concrete mixers, pumps, and finishing tools to achieve smooth, durable surfaces aligned with project requirements.
- Assist with rebar installation, concrete forming, and other foundational tasks to support paving operations.
- Monitor site conditions during paving and finishing processes, making adjustments as needed for quality control.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, project progress, and safety inspections
- Follow all company safety policies and DOT requirements.
- Assist the crew with other duties as needed to keep projects moving.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment specifically rollers
- Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques and paving procedures
- Familiarity with construction site safety standards and protocols
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues quickly and effectively
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus
- Strong understanding of rebar installation, concrete forming, and general construction practices
- Prior experience working on commercial or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable
- Dependable, safety-minded, and a team player

Pay: Competitive union wages based on the current IUOE Local 302 Collective Bargaining Agreement, applicable classification, and experience, plus excellent union benefits.
