- Supervises and supports subordinate personnel, answering questions, guiding work and functioning as a clinical and management resource. Completes performance evaluations of staff as assigned.

Administers and documents medications and treatments, as needed.
- Oversees the on-going assessments of residents, with appropriate interaction as indicated. Monitors documentation of current status and any changes in condition.
- Provides continuous information and documentation to resident care plans, interacting with the physician to implement changes and updates.
- Physically visits and assesses all residents on the 24-hour report and documents on those residents.
- Makes unit rounds no less than twice per shift, ensuring regulatory and facility compliance in all nursing areas.
- Provides appropriate leadership for the intervention and documentation of emergency situations.
- Addresses resident/family concerns as they occur and works to resolve them, and completes appropriate documentation, Notifies the DON and/or the Nurse on call for serious concerns, including but not limited to possible cases of abuse or neglect.
- Provides direct nursing care as needed. Is responsible for replacing staff call-ins. If unable to obtain coverage for licensed nurses, the supervisor must work in that position.
- Actively participates in the Quality Assurance program, as directed by the Director of Nursing.
- Ensures that resident/family teaching is consistent with resident care plan and documented in the chart.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia required
- Two years’ experience in medical/surgical area or Long-Term Care facility required

1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, 2 years’ of experience as an LPN with 1 year of medical experience from the hospital or 2 years of long-term care experience required

Experience in geriatrics required

Current CPR certification required

Strong interpersonal and communication skills required

Ability to work collaboratively and independently required
- Proficiency in relevant systems, software, or tools required
