Next Level Photo Education is growing, and we're looking for additional photography teachers to join our team this fall.
We teach live Zoom online photography classes for children and teens through Outschool and offer 1-1 lessons for adult hobbyists and aspiring photographers. Our classes range from creative photography clubs and themed workshops to structured homeschool courses that help students develop both technical and artistic photography skills.
This position is ideal for professional photographers who enjoy teaching, mentoring, and inspiring young photographers.

What You'll Do:
- Teach live Zoom photography classes for students ages 6–13 (Some teen classes)
- Lead discussions, critiques, challenges, and hands-on learning activities
- Help students develop creativity, visual storytelling, and technical camera skills
- Troubleshoot camera settings and photography concepts
- Optionally collaborate on new classes based on your interests and expertise
Required Qualifications:
- Professional photography experience
- Expert level understanding of manual mode photography
- Ability to troubleshoot common camera settings and photography challenges
- Experience working with children or teens (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camps, homeschool groups, youth programs, etc.)
- Reliable internet connection and professional home workspace
- Positive, patient, and encouraging communication style
- Strong photography portfolio demonstrating technical skill and creativity
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching, tutoring, or classroom experience
- Experience working with neurodivergent learners or diverse learning styles
- Homeschool education experience
- Teaching certification or degree in education (not required, but beneficial for certain educational funding programs)
Schedule - Current teaching needs include:
- Monday evenings
- Tuesdays (various times)
- Friday evenings
Weekend classes and occasional tutoring opportunities are also available.
Most new teachers begin with approximately one day per week (3–6 hours of availability) and expand as enrollment grows.
Compensation:
- 1099 Independent Contractor position
- Minimum equivalent of $20/hour
- Pay is based on class enrollment, with higher earnings as classes fill
- Small class sizes (up to 6 learners)
