Process Engineer at a leading foam manufacturer in North America. Off Shift
Job Duties & Responsibilities
· Key member of the APQP team; responsible for process requirements in new products, tooling and equipment, including sample runs, ensuring production readiness for new launches.
· Focus on implementation of continuous improvement, scrap reduction and variation reduction programs
· Apply standard 8-D, 5Y or similar problem-solving process to recurring production defects to eliminate root causes.
· Participate in production troubleshooting as needed with team of lead hands and technicians.
· Responsible for implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of HSE Modules as assigned.
· Responsible for improvement projects from the start of defining the project to completed implementation.
· Responsible for various plant improvements projects in conjunction with maintenance.
· Conduct planned experiments, possibly at full level D.O.E.’s
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
● One to two years’ experience in an engineering role
● Strong mechanical aptitude
● Good verbal and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of SPC (advanced), APQP, CARS, automotive quality standards (including TS16949), statistical experiments and various reduction principles and practices
Salary information: per hour (Salary is dependent on experience) $30- $43
