Job Description
This role combines shipping and receiving responsibilities with hands-on work on machining and welding equipment. You operate orbital welding systems for thin-wall stainless tube, support material handling and inventory activities, and help maintain consistent weld quality while working both independently and collaboratively within a production environment.
Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.

Follow established safety protocols and procedures throughout all shipping, receiving, and welding activities.

Operate orbital welding equipment and related machinery used on thin-wall stainless tube.

Prepare, position, and align components accurately prior to welding operations.

Conduct visual inspections of welds to verify compliance with quality and inspection standards.

Perform minor equipment adjustments and routine maintenance to keep welding and material handling equipment in proper working condition.

Handle shipping and receiving tasks, including packaging, labeling, and preparing materials for shipment.

Perform material handling duties such as loading, unloading, and moving products and components within the facility.

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to support inventory and shipping operations, where applicable.

Assist with inventory activities, including counting, tracking, and organizing materials and finished goods.

Work collaboratively with senior welders or supervisors to meet production and shipping goals.

Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements and developing your skills over time.
Essential Skills
-
Hands-on welding experience or recent graduation from a welding school.

Basic understanding of weld quality requirements and inspection standards.

Ability to operate orbital welding systems designed to standardize weld quality on thin-wall stainless tube.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with moderate supervision.

Strong commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing skill development.

Capability to become qualified in accordance with Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for Automatic Welding.

Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packaging and labeling.

Material handling skills, including safe movement and organization of products and components.

Ability to perform inventory-related tasks such as counting and tracking materials.

Forklift operation experience or ability to learn to operate forklifts safely.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working with machining or welding equipment in a production or industrial environment.

Familiarity with orbital welding systems used to standardize weld quality without requiring journeyman-level welders.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chester, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
