Job Overview
Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, the CNA provides direct and indirect resident care within their certified scope of practice. This includes assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a safe environment, and reporting changes in resident status. Must be able to care for adult and geriatric populations and understand age-specific needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with hygiene, grooming, toileting, mobility, and positioning
- Ensure resident safety and respond promptly to call lights
- Serve meals, assist with feeding, and respect dietary preferences
- Support rehabilitative goals (e.g., ROM, transfers, ambulation)
- Observe and report physical/emotional changes to the nurse
- Maintain cleanliness and proper equipment use
Requirements:
- Certification: NYS Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) + BLS (AHA or RQI)
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: 1 year in Long-Term Care or CNA role
- Exposure: Position may involve contact with blood/body fluids
