About the Role
Attorneys for Freedom is seeking a Salesforce Administrator / Developer to support the day-to-day administration and custom development of a growing Salesforce environment. This is a hybrid role combining hands-on platform administration with Apex and Lightning Web Component development. The environment spans Sales Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and an Experience Cloud implementation that supports a member portal and a large external user community. You will work alongside the firm's senior Salesforce lead, taking on increasing ownership of the platform over time.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a core requirement of this role, alongside Sales Cloud administration and platform development. You are not expected to know everything on day one, but you should have working coverage across the full platform: the goal is someone who can operate independently on routine administration and development now, and who has the breadth to step into broader platform ownership as the role grows. A strong bias toward documentation matters here, so that knowledge lives in the system rather than in any one person's head.
What You Will Do
- Platform administration. Own and optimize the Sales Cloud environment: objects, fields, record types, page layouts, validation rules, Flow automations, permission sets, profiles, and the overall security model.
- Marketing Cloud ownership. Own and execute Salesforce Marketing Cloud operations, including audience segmentation, journey and campaign setup, Automation Studio automations, data extensions, and performance tracking, in coordination with the marketing team.
- Experience Cloud administration. Administer the Experience Cloud implementation behind the member portal: community user setup and licensing, page and component updates, sharing and access configuration, and support for a large external user base.
- Development. Write and maintain Apex classes, triggers, and test classes, and build and modify Lightning Web Components, following defined code quality and test coverage standards.
- Release management. Manage sandbox strategy, deployments, and release management using change sets or a CI/CD pipeline, with version control discipline and reversible, documented releases.
- Integrations. Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems, including billing and payment tooling, the member portal API layer, and marketing platforms, working alongside the external platform development team.
- Quality and UAT. Write test scripts, validate configuration and code changes before release, and document results as part of a structured UAT process.
- Support and triage. Provide first-line support for internal Salesforce questions and requests, triaging tickets, resolving routine items directly, and escalating clearly when needed.
- Documentation. Maintain current documentation of configuration, automations, integrations, and data model decisions so that any change can be understood, audited, and reversed.
- Collaboration. Partner with the firm's senior Salesforce lead, outside consultants, and the platform engineering team on larger initiatives, taking direct ownership of routine work and shared ownership of complex changes.
What You Will Bring
- Three or more years of hands-on Salesforce experience spanning both administration and development responsibilities.
- Proven hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and data extensions) is required for this role.
- Deep Sales Cloud administration expertise, including Flow Builder, the security and sharing model, and data management at scale.
- Working knowledge of Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components, including writing test classes to platform coverage standards. Depth will grow on the job, but you should be able to build, test, and deploy independently today.
- Experience administering an Experience Cloud site or community, ideally one serving a large external user population.
- Experience with sandbox management and deployment processes, whether change sets or a CI/CD toolchain such as Copado or Git-based pipelines.
- Salesforce Administrator certification required and current at time of application.
- Strong written communication in English, with the discipline to document processes and decisions so others can follow them.
- Comfort operating in a remote environment: proactive communication, reliable follow-through, and sound judgment on when to ask questions and when to escalate.
