SUMMARY: Title Aides provide academic support designed to broaden, extend and deepen the learning experience for identified at-risk students. This support is provided to students in flexible, small groups during the Intervention/Enrichment instructional period, under the direction of the classroom teacher or instructional coaches. Students receiving this support are determined by the classroom teacher, and multiple assessment data points.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Complete at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); Obtain an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution; or Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through passage of an approved formal state academic assessment in the following areas:

Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or
-
Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.

Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help students succeed.

Basic proficiency in using technology and education software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional support to students in reading and/or mathematics.

Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students who require additional assistance.

Help prepare instructional materials and resources for classroom activities.

Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.

Assist in creating a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.

Support students in developing social skills and positive behavior.

Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement strategies that meet the diverse needs of students.
