About Restoration Pruning
Restoration Pruning is a professional tree care company serving Camas, Vancouver, and the surrounding Portland–Vancouver area. We focus on high-quality tree pruning, tree removal, tree health, and professional arboriculture.
We are growing our production team and looking for an experienced tree climber who takes pride in doing quality work, works safely, and wants to continue developing as an arborist.
The Position
We are looking for a Tree Climber with at least one year of professional tree climbing experience.
This is not an entry-level climbing position. You should already be comfortable working aloft and performing routine pruning and removal operations. You do not need to know everything—we are looking for someone with a solid foundation who is dependable, coachable, safety-conscious, and interested in becoming an excellent arborist.
Responsibilities
- Climb trees using modern climbing systems and techniques
- Perform structural, clearance, restoration, and maintenance pruning
- Perform tree removals using appropriate rigging techniques
- Operate chainsaws safely while aloft
- Install and use climbing and rigging equipment correctly
- Work efficiently with ground crew members
- Assist with jobsite setup, cleanup, chipping, and equipment operation as needed
- Inspect climbing gear and equipment
- Follow company and industry safety standards
- Communicate professionally with crew members and customers
- Help maintain a clean, organized, professional jobsite
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ year of professional tree climbing experience
- Comfortable climbing and working at height
- Experience operating chainsaws in a tree
- Working knowledge of basic tree rigging
- Understanding of proper pruning practices
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
- Dependable and able to arrive ready to work on time
- Strong commitment to safety
- Able to work well as part of a small crew
Preferred Qualifications
These are valuable, but not required:
- ISA Certified Arborist
- ISA Certified Tree Climber
- CDL
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Aerial rescue training
- Experience with SRS/SRT climbing
- Advanced rigging experience
- Experience operating chippers, stump grinders, mini skid steers, or aerial lifts
- Knowledge of tree identification, tree biology, and ANSI A300 pruning standards

Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $28 – $45per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Schedule
Full-time
Monday–Friday, with occasional schedule adjustments depending on weather and workload.
