Duties
- Safely operate box trucks adhering to all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport
- Deliver freight to various locations, maintaining professional customer service during each interaction
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records in accordance with FMCSA regulations
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving box trucks
- Knowledge of truck loading/unloading procedures, logistics cargo handling
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems confidently on long-distance routes
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods
- Strong manual handling skills for load & unload activities and truck loading/unloading operations
- Excellent driving skills with experience in over-the-road (OTR) routes or local deliveries
