The legal question that became a dispute usually didn't start as a dispute. It started as a contract nobody reviewed, a handshake agreement nobody wrote down, or a question an owner didn't think was worth a lawyer's time — until it was.
We're looking for an attorney who would rather answer that question on a Tuesday for free than watch it become a lawsuit two years later.
Who We're Actually Looking For
- A licensed attorney (Idaho bar) with real small-business or transactional experience — contracts, entity structure, employment basics, general business counsel.
- Someone who can operate proactively — catching risk in a contract before it's signed, not just defending it after it's broken.
- Someone who can explain legal exposure to a non-lawyer without the jargon, so the owner actually understands the decision they're making.
- Someone drawn to the idea of being embedded counsel for a portfolio of small businesses, rather than billing hours against a single large client.
What This Role Actually Is
The Attorney works behind our client-facing BDR line as part of our Complete-tier membership, engaged on scheduled touchpoints for contract review, entity and compliance questions, and general business counsel — and looped in directly whenever a client specifically needs it.
This is not a litigation-heavy seat. It's built around prevention: reviewing before signature, structuring before formation, and catching the small things before they become the legal question that became a dispute.
Compensation
Salary range to be discussed based on experience and portfolio size. Full W-2 role with benefits or term contracted.
About Adminstone
We built Adminstone because we know exactly what it costs to not have it.
The legal question that became a dispute. The financial report that arrived too late. The best employee who left because nobody noticed. The marketing that never happened because there was no time and no one who knew what they were doing.
Adminstone is a professional services subscription firm based in the Treasure Valley. We give small business owners a coordinated team of real professionals — not referrals, not a directory, a team — for one predictable monthly rate. We do the work. We don't just advise on it and leave the owner to figure out the rest.
What Doesn't Change
Every role at Adminstone changes as the firm grows. The tools change. The org chart changes. The client roster changes. What doesn't change is the soul of it: we do the work we say we'll do, we tell owners the truth even when it's inconvenient, and we measure ourselves by whether the client is actually better off — not by whether the invoice went out on time.
How to Apply
Ready to apply? Head to adminstone.com/join-our-team to submit your application. As part of the process, you'll be asked to answer the following:
- One paragraph on why embedded, proactive small-business counsel appeals to you over a traditional firm or litigation track.
- One example of a time you helped a client avoid a legal problem rather than clean one up.
- One answer to this question — an owner tells you they've been "handshaking" every vendor agreement for years and nothing's gone wrong yet. What do you say to them?
We read every application personally. We respond to every application personally. We do not use automated screening. The right candidate will know within 48 hours whether we want to have a conversation.
