Salad / Pantry Cook – Le Colonial Position Overview
Le Colonial is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Salad / Pantry Cook to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for the execution and presentation of all cold kitchen items, including salads, cold appetizers, garnishes, and fresh spring rolls. The ideal candidate has a passion for food quality, presentation, and consistency while thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
As a key member of the kitchen team, the Salad / Pantry Cook will ensure that every dish leaving the pantry station meets Le Colonial's standards for freshness, accuracy, and visual appeal.
Responsibilities
Set up and maintain the pantry station with all necessary ingredients and supplies before service.
Prepare and execute all salads, cold appetizers, and pantry menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Prepare and roll fresh spring rolls with consistency, proper portioning, and attention to detail.
Wash, cut, portion, and organize vegetables, herbs, fruits, and garnishes for daily service.
Ensure all cold dishes are prepared accurately and served in a timely manner during service.
Maintain proper food storage, labeling, dating, and rotation procedures using FIFO standards.
Monitor product quality and freshness throughout the shift.
Follow instructions from the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and kitchen leadership team.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
Assist with inventory control and communicate product needs to management.
Support fellow kitchen team members as needed to ensure smooth service operations.
Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Pantry Cook, Salad Cook, Prep Cook, or Line Cook preferred.
Strong knife skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Experience preparing salads, cold appetizers, and fresh spring rolls is highly preferred.
Ability to maintain consistency and attention to detail in food presentation.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Food Handler Certification required.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
