Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder Dept Head to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various welding techniques and fabrication processes, with experience in construction and manufacturing environments. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively. Leadership and Management for a team of skilled Welders. Hours will be Monday- Friday 8 am - 5 pm.
Duties
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various materials including sheet metal and ductwork.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutters to complete fabrication tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ASME codes & standards to ensure precise assembly and construction.
- Conduct pipe threading, rigging, and assembly of components as per project specifications.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move materials around the worksite.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform quality checks using calipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy of welds and dimensions.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in welding, particularly MIG and TIG techniques.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety practices.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience with fabrication processes including ductwork assembly.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, forklifts, cranes, and other machinery safely.
- Knowledge of FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) techniques is a plus.

Pay: $22.53 - $27.13 per hour
