Duties
- Efficiently wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, plating support, and ingredient organization
- Clear and reset tables promptly by bussing dishes, removing trash, and ensuring the dining area remains tidy and inviting
- Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers safely and effectively while adhering to all sanitation standards
- Support kitchen staff with manual handling of supplies, ingredients, and equipment to promote smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by regularly cleaning workstations, floors, and storage areas in compliance with health regulations
- Follow all food safety management protocols to uphold restaurant health and safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards within a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling supplies or moving equipment
- Strong manual handling skills with attention to detail in cleaning and food handling tasks
- Basic knife skills or culinary experience are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving guests and supporting colleagues
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high energy levels
