JOB The Construction Technician is primarily responsible for the construction and/or repair of junction boxes, grate inlets, catch basins, retaining walls, box culverts and bridges. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES 1. Reads and interprets blue prints for the listed items to include proper size and placement of re-enforcing steel, minimum wall thickness and inlet openings.
2. Fills out work orders.
3. Places concrete into forms or slab placement in accordance with standard practices and City specifications to include vibration and applying desired concrete finish.
4. Builds and places forms as required to build desired structure.
5. Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Physical Requirements:
1. Position requires moderate to extensive stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
2. Position requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
3. Job must be performed with or without accommodations.
4. Manual dexterity for the use of hand and power tools

Work Environment:
1. Work is performed outdoors with exposure to noise, chemicals, inclement weather, dirt, grease, dust, and machinery with moving parts requiring use of protective devices.
Travel:
Travel will be required locally from location to location to accomplish job assignments and visit job sites.
