Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Pre-Press Supervisor/Lead Operator to oversee the preparation of print materials, ensuring the highest quality standards are met before production. In this role, you will lead a team of pre-press technicians, manage color accuracy. Your expertise will ensure that all print projects are accurately prepped, color-managed, and ready for seamless production, driving efficiency and excellence across our printing operations.
Job Description
- Review electronic files from customer, pre-flight check them for printability, prior to assembly, layout and proofing.
- Using page layout software and desktop publishing software manipulate the files into the print layout to the dimensions of the paper.
- Create press layout according to the press and sheet size, accounting for the trims, bleeds, crop marks, color bars, and gripper.
- Identify missing or problematic issues within the files.
- Prepare proofs, PDF or hard copy.
- Output plates and press proofs for production.
Qualifications
- Must be proficient with Adobe Suite, Enfocus Pit-Stop, and the Heidelberg Prinect System, including color proofing systems, and plate curves within Prinect.
- Have a thorough understanding of commercial print. Traps, pull backs, and color.
- Communication skills (Email and verbal) are a must.
- Mechanical skills to make minor repairs and maintenance to plate processor, image setter, and proofing devices and other devices within the department.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
