Full Job Description:
In this role, you will learn from some of the best Pastry chefs, you will be taught french pastry techniques, and how to work in a traditional french bakery. You will be prepping cream, cakes, glazes, eclair shells, mousse cakes and finishing pastries for the bakery. Bake, assemble and decorate cakes, including custom designs and specialty orders using pipping and fondant. Under the head chef, you will be responsible for daily production of all pastry items for the store(s) and our brand new catering menu including our wedding cakes . If you have:

- Possess a passion for cooking with a keen eye for freshness, quality and cleanliness
- Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays.
- have at least 1-2 years of experience successfully working in a fast-paced kitchen

Summary Assistant pastry Chef’ Primary Responsibilities
- Summary Pastry Chef’ Primary Responsibilities:
You will combine technical baking skills with artistic flair to produce everything from daily bakery items to custom tiered cakes for special events, ensuring all creations meet top-tier aesthetic and quality standards
- Baking & Preparation: Mix batters, prepare doughs, and create fillings, icings, and glazes according to traditional and modern recipes.
- Cake Decorating: Apply frostings, fondants, and intricate details using piping bags, airbrushes, edible flowers, and sugar/chocolate sculpting
- Pastry Production: Prepare a wide variety of other baked goods such as cookies, tarts, pies, and breads.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all pastries and cakes look identical, cleanly decorated, and consistent in taste.
- Sanitation & Safety: Follow strict food safety guidelines, clean equipment, and maintain a sterile workspace. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen
- Kitchen Management: Monitor ingredient inventory, order supplies, and maintain a clean, sanitary, and compliant workspace.
- Consultation & Design: Meet with clients to discuss their event themes, flavor preferences, and design ideas, often sketching preliminary concepts for approval.
- Leadership (if applicable): Assist with training junior bakers, decorators, or assistants, and oversee dessert presentation during service

Essential Functions/Working Conditions
- Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Formal training (such as a vocational CAP in France or a culinary school degree in Pastry Arts is often preferred for higher-end establishments ) combined with hands-on apprenticeship or bakery experience
- Customer Service: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and address their custom requests
- Experience: Proven experience in baking and cake decorating, usually demonstrated through a professional portfolio of work.
- Artistic Ability: Exceptional manual dexterity, an eye for color and detail, and knowledge of current cake decorating trends.
- Certifications: Current Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
