Duties
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their needs, preferences, and prescriptions.
- Provide detailed information about lens options, coatings, and frame styles.
- Conduct fittings and adjustments to ensure proper alignment and comfort of eyewear.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to patient interactions.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with patients and healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with optometrists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology.
- Uphold aseptic techniques in all patient interactions to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Experience
Candidates should have a solid foundation in the following areas:
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy as it relates to eye care.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to optometry.
- Experience with sales techniques, particularly in a retail or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in managing medical records and understanding medical coding practices.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
