Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
The Medical Assistant is an integral part of the Patient Care Team and acts as the liaison between the provider and the patient; to meet the medical needs of the patient.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Certified Medical Assistant

Completed a formal Medical Assistant Training Program -or- minimum of three (3) years working as a Medical Assistant

BLS Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in related clinical setting
Duties and Responsibilities:

Establishes strong working relationships with providers; while facilitating excellent patient care

Consistently exceeds customer service expectations and communicates effectively

Strong data entry and computer abilities in addition to proficiency; when performing department specific clinical skills

Must be able to perform accurately and quickly in a busy, stressful environment, setting priorities as to duties

Understands and follows policies and procedures

Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter and demonstrates teamwork

Actively participates in the department

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

Accepts the risk of exposure to job-related illness and injury which may cause long-term health problems

Must be able to see with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance, and differentiate colors accurately (when required)

Must be able to sit and walk frequently or for long periods of time

Must be able to stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist routinely

Constant use of the computer and keyboard

Must be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds (frequently)
Special Demands:

Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families; in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of care

Effectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
