Quality Transportation Services, Inc. (QTS) is seeking a Business Systems Specialist – @Plant to join our team in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

The QTS @Plant application is a rail yard management system that enables customers to manage railcar movements, inventory, shipping operations, and day-to-day yard activities. As a Business Systems Specialist – @Plant, you will become a trusted resource for customers using the application, helping them solve operational challenges, improve business processes, and successfully implement new functionality.
This role combines customer support, business analysis, reporting, implementation, and project coordination into a collaborative, customer-facing position. You will work closely with customers, railroads, vendors, and internal teams to ensure our customers receive exceptional service and maximize the value of the @Plant platform.
Primary Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer service inquiries and application support for assigned @Plant accounts.
- Troubleshoot application, operational, and data-related issues, coordinating solutions with internal teams, customers, railroads, vendors, and third-party partners.
- Manage customer requests, issue tracking, system updates, account maintenance, application configuration, and Service Desk activities through resolution.
- Coordinate customer onboarding activities, including implementation planning, system configuration, user training, testing, and go-live support for new customer deployments.
- Monitor customer data and maintain data accuracy through analysis, auditing, reporting, and operational data review.
- Analyze customer operations and reporting data to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.
- Gather and document business requirements for reports, application enhancements, and customer requests.
- Create, maintain, and support customer reports using SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, training materials, and process documentation.
- Participate in application testing, quality assurance, change management, and production deployments.
- Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Minimum of two years of college coursework or equivalent work experience.
- Two years of experience in customer service, logistics, transportation, business systems support, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
- Experience writing SQL queries and working with reporting or business intelligence tools preferred.
- Experience supporting software implementations, customer onboarding, or business application deployments preferred.
- Experience in railroad, transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations preferred.
- Procurement or yard management experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, JIRA, or similar business applications is a plus.
Skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with customers and business partners.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to learn technical business applications and troubleshoot operational and data-related issues.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience creating technical documentation, process documentation, user guides, or training materials preferred.
- Process improvement experience preferred.
- Spanish and/or French language skills are a plus.

Position Information
Location: Mechanicsville, VA (On-site)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
