Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lamination Operator I to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting experienced Lamination Operators in preparing, setting up, and operating UV coating and lamination equipment. Learn production processes, quality standards, and safety procedures while developing the technical skills necessary to advance to an expert Lamination Operator role.
Responsibilities
- Learn the setup, operation, and maintenance of UV coating and lamination machines.
- Observe and assist in selecting and preparing coatings, materials, and feedstock for production.
- Study and interpret job tickets to understand specifications and production details.
- Assist with basic press setup, including installing rollers, preparing lamps, and cleaning components.
- Participate in on-the-job training on coating preparation, sheet feeding, and product inspection.
- Learn proper cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance practices for UV equipment.
- Help feed sheets into the press, stack finished products, and monitor quality output.
- Support operators with material handling, cleaning, and quality control checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with minor machine maintenance and replenishment of chemicals or materials.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety rules, including PPE and machine guarding procedures.
- Learn safe handling of UV coatings, chemicals, and solvents.
- Report unsafe conditions, mechanical issues, or product defects immediately.
- Support press operations during downtime, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operator III or supervisor.
Schedule: 6am - 2pm Monday - Friday with opportunity for overtime as needed. Hours subject to change based on business needs.
Technical Skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn press and coating operations.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills for mixing and coating preparation.
- Understanding of basic safety and quality control principles.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- No prior lamination or coating experience preferred; on-the-job training provided.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or finishing operations preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Standing/Walking: ~90% (feeding materials, inspecting products, and assisting with operations).
- Lifting: Up to 50 lbs. (handling paper stacks, coatings, and press materials).
- Reaching/Bending: ~30% (machine setup, loading, and cleaning tasks).
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for adjustments, feeding, and cleaning.
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
