Ice Cream Scooper/ Cashier
Location: Buona Beef/The Original Rainbow Cone restaurant location. Target open date July 24th. Anticipated start date July 17th

Joe and Katherine Sapp first introduced Rainbow Cone – and it’s iconic stacked, five-flavor ice cream Rainbow Cone – to Chicago in 1926. After joining The Buona Companies in 2018, it’s been our collective mission to uphold the Sapp Family’s legacy across 14+ Rainbow Cone locations in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Florida.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Ice Cream Scooper will greet guests with a smile, quickly and accurately record orders, and take payment. The Ice Cream Scooper will also scoop and serve all Rainbow Cone orders while maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace. The ideal candidate is upbeat, dependable, guest-focused, and works well in a fast-paced team setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet every guest promptly with a friendly, professional attitude and create a welcoming first impression
- Operate the point-of-sale system to enter orders, process payments, and issue receipts correctly
- Confirm guest orders for accuracy
- Scoop ice cream to fill customer orders
- Proper handling and serving of Rainbow Cone products
- Restock ice cream flavors in display tubs, bowls, cones, napkins, spoons, etc.
- Maintain speed and hospitality during peak periods while keeping service accurate and courteous
- Follow sanitation, food handling, and cash-handling procedures in accordance with company standards
- Communicate and work with the team to provide outstanding service to our guests
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail and service standards
Additional duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support guest service, daily operations, and team success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Previous restaurant, cashier, customer service, or food service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, guest-first attitude
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and cash-handling ability with attention to detail
- Ability to learn menu items, answer guest questions, and follow service procedures consistently
- Food Handler certificate required or ability to obtain one within the required timeframe
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the restaurant during the shift
Preferred
- Experience in a quick-service or fast-casual restaurant
- Experience working front counter, drive-thru, dining room, or expediting stations
- Comfort with POS systems and high-volume order entry
- ServSafe certification is a plus
- Bilingual skills are a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand motions. The Ice Cream Scooper/Cashier must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, move quickly between service areas, and work safely in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
