Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Guest Service Representative to join our team at Fairfield by Marriott Muskegon Norton Shores. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional hospitality and ensuring a seamless and memorable stay. This is a hands-on position at our select-service hotel, requiring strong multitasking skills, professionalism, and a passion for guest satisfaction.
This position is a PM SHIFT, 3PM - 11PM. Full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring a welcoming and personalized experience.
- Manage guest check-in and check-out efficiently while verifying identification, payment methods, and reservation details.
- Answer and direct phone calls promptly, addressing guest inquiries and requests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, including managing assigned bank, processing transactions, and reporting any discrepancies to management.
- Keep the front desk and lobby area organized and presentable, assisting with lobby engagement and guest interactions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with guest privacy and data security protocols when handling personal payment information (PPI).
- Address guest concerns and requests promptly, collaborating with other hotel departments to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Review the daily arrival list and assist in preparing and assembling welcome amenities for VIP guests.
- Assist in hotel operations as needed, ensuring all front desk responsibilities align with brand and service standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in front desk or hospitality operations preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of hotel front desk procedures, including check-in/check-out processes, reservations, and guest services.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and hotel management systems preferred.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first approach.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- A team player with a positive attitude and a passion for providing outstanding guest experiences.
