Pride Health is seeking a qualified and experienced Endoscopy/GI Technician to join a multidisciplinary healthcare team in Rochester, NY,14642 . The ideal candidate will have strong experience in endoscopy/GI procedures, endoscope reprocessing, High-Level Disinfection (HLD), equipment maintenance, and infection prevention. Previous travel experience is required, with candidates having completed at least one travel assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply principles of aseptic technique when preparing and maintaining equipment and assisting with procedures
- Identify and address any potential compromise to sterile or High-Level Disinfectant integrity throughout procedures
- Disassemble equipment, identify defective or malfunctioning parts, and perform preventive maintenance as required
- Perform all endoscope pre-cleaning and reprocessing requirements according to regulatory standards, including inspection, leak testing, cleaning, and High-Level Disinfection
- Identify and report endoscopes and equipment requiring repair or replacement
- Follow established protocols for reprocessing endoscopes, accessories, and related equipment
- Store reprocessed equipment according to facility policies and regulatory requirements
- Determine appropriate High-Level Disinfection methods based on product materials and manufacturer instructions
- Check and calibrate equipment according to established equipment protocols
- Perform ambulatory technician duties as assigned, including obtaining and documenting patient vital signs
- Transport patients and assist with other patient-care duties as appropriate
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards
- Patient Population: Adult patients receiving care in an Endoscopy/GI and ambulatory procedural setting
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Previous travel experience required
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Strong experience with endoscopy/GI equipment and procedures
- Knowledge of endoscope cleaning, reprocessing, and High-Level Disinfection
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection prevention practices
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- HLD Certification highly encouraged
- Previous acute care or hospital experience
- Experience with endoscope inspection, leak testing, cleaning, and reprocessing
- Familiarity with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards for endoscope reprocessing
