$76,960.00 - $101,774.40
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Patient Financial Services, the Admitting Supervisor oversees daily personnel management, including staff selection, scheduling, performance evaluations, and time-keeping according to hospital policy.
This role involves planning and organizing department activities and registration services to ensure professional standards and continuous quality improvement. To support service area success, the Supervisor must remain available for on-call duties across variable shifts and manage operations within the budgetary limits for Admitting and Communications.
Additionally, the Supervisor facilitates effective communication with patients, their representatives, and healthcare team members to maintain high standards of service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Supervises all patient registration, insurance verification, prior authorization, financial counseling and communications.
2. Calculates, tracks, maintains monthly point of service cash collections.
3. Responsible for accurate information processing including patient demographics, insurance information and other necessary information required for the billing and collection for patient service charges.
4. Provides oversight for and ensures the quality productivity of Main Admitting, ER Admitting, Hospital Services Office and Communications service areas.
5. Creates monthly schedule for all Patient Access and Communication staff. Monitors attendance, approves and maintains records with the time and attendance system JB Dev.
6. Oversees advance directive, patient rights, Important Message to Medicare Patients and HIPAA privacy practice audits.
7. Displays the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
8. Responsible for communicating department updates and process changes to staff in a timely manner.
9. Triages department issues and escalates to manager as appropriate.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
Required Qualification: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate?s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
2. Sexual Harassment/ Bullying Prevention Certification required. (1 month from hire)
3. Management or Supervisory experience preferred.
4. Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid (Medi-Cal), and commercial payers, as well as experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Meditech or Epic. Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel.
