Position Summary:
Storee Construction is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for managing accounts receivable while supporting job cost monitoring, proposal and report preparation, and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of accounting principles, including AR processes and project-based accounting. Experience in a construction environment or with job cost accounting is highly valued.
This position typically works Monday-Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform accounts receivable functions including project set up, job cost monitoring, processing project invoices, posting receipts, and completing job cost closeout procedures.
- Prepare proposals, reports, and client correspondence related to accounts receivable and job cost information.
- Monitor open job cost items and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Perform routine AR collection activities, including sending statements, replacement invoices, contacting client accounts payable, and documenting follow-ups.
- Assist with general accounting functions including general ledger entries, accounts payable, inventory, and equipment tracking as they relate to job cost accounting.
- Support communication of accounts receivable information to Project Directors, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
- Participate in special projects or department initiatives as needed.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- College degree in accounting preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of related accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and balanced entry requirements.
- Experience with accounts receivable, job cost accounting, or project-based accounting.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with SharePoint and accounting software preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and data entry skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal team members.
