Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories, utilizing advanced clinical skills.
- Monitor patient conditions continuously, recognizing signs of deterioration or improvement to inform treatment decisions.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as IV's, phlebotomy, and diagnostic imaging procedures like sonography or mammography.
- Provide specialized care in areas such as ICU, emergency medicine, trauma medicine, or geriatrics based on experience; including ventilator management and acute pain control.
- Document all patient interactions comprehensively within electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, discharge planning, and patient education.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license (RN) in good standing with relevant state licensing authorities.
- Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency room, ICU, or long-term care settings.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for documentation purposes.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for safe patient care.
- Experience with specialized procedures including suturing, catheterization (urinary or cardiac), ostomy care, or spinal tap procedures preferred.
- Ability to perform complex patient assessments and respond effectively in critical situations requiring emergency response procedures or trauma medicine expertise.
- Excellent communication skills for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; experience in geriatrics or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
- Physical ability to perform duties that include lifting patients using Hoyer lifts, performing physical examinations, and maintaining sterile techniques during procedures.
