The Manufacturing Recruiter & Onboarding Specialist is responsible for executing full-cycle, high-volume recruiting and delivering a compliant, efficient, and positive onboarding experience for all production, skilled trades, and support roles within the facility. This role is fully on-site to ensure hands-on support for walk-in applicants, hiring managers, and new employees, and plays a critical part in workforce stability, retention, and compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
Key Responsibilities

High-Volume Recruiting
-
Manage full-cycle recruiting for production, warehouse, maintenance, forklift, shipping/receiving, and other high-volume roles.

Conduct daily applicant flow management, including walk-ins, job fairs, community outreach, and referral programs.
- Assist applicants who cannot navigate online systems; ensure all applications are completed accurately.

Screen candidates for minimum qualifications, shift availability, physical requirements, and safety expectations.

Partner with supervisors and plant leadership to understand staffing needs, turnover trends, and skill gaps.

Maintain accurate requisition data, candidate notes, and hiring metrics in ATS (UKG/Kronos or your system).
Compliance & Documentation

Perform I-9 verification, E-Verify processing, and document validation with 100% accuracy.

Ensure all onboarding packets, offer letters, and hiring forms meet federal, state, and company compliance standards.

Maintain audit-ready records for HR.

Support pre-employment requirements (drug screens, background checks, physicals, PPE fit testing, etc.).

Uphold confidentiality and data integrity in all hiring and onboarding processes.
Onboarding & New Hire Experience

Facilitate daily or weekly new-hire orientations, including safety training, HR policies, and facility rules.
- Coordinate with Safety, IT, Payroll, and Operations to ensure new hires are fully prepared for Day 1.

Ensure new hires receive badges, PPE, locker assignments, timeclock setup, and department introductions.

Monitor early-tenure retention and conduct follow-ups at 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days.
Workforce Support & Facility Presence

Provide daily on-site HR support to employees, supervisors, and applicants.

Participate in shift-start meetings, plant walkthroughs, and safety huddles to maintain visibility.

Assist with cross-training, job postings, internal transfers, and rehire eligibility checks.

Serve as a resource for employees regarding attendance, policies, and HR procedures.
Qualifications

2–5 years of high-volume recruiting experience; manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of I-9, E-Verify, and onboarding compliance requirements.

Experience with ATS/HRIS systems (UKG/Kronos preferred).

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-risk, multi-shift environment.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred due to workforce demographics.

Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and composure under pressure.

Must have advanced Excel and reporting skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, dashboards, and data analysis for recruiting metrics.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Must be able to work on-site daily in a manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment.

Ability to walk the production floor, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods during orientations or job fairs.

Must be comfortable interacting with employees across all shifts (including early morning or late-evening needs).
