Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
- Prepare, process, and store specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance within the draw site.
- Utilize electronic systems for order entry, documentation, and reporting.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring patient comfort throughout the procedure.
- Monitor supply levels and communicate inventory needs.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and compliance guidelines.
- Such other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a clinical or draw site setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred:
- Certified Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant, or related healthcare certification
- Experience overseeing compliance or quality assurance functions in a medical or laboratory environment
- Familiarity with CLIA-regulated testing environments and pre-analytical specimen requirements
- Training or certification in healthcare compliance, safety, or risk management is a strong plus
