Provides day-to-day technical and compliance support for the Clean Air Program at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division, Indiana, including Lake Glendora Test Facility. Operates within the requirements of NSWC Crane’s Title V Air Permit and Indiana Administrative Code Title 326 (Air Pollution Control Division). Supports permit compliance monitoring, emissions inventory development, regulatory reporting, source testing coordination, and permit application drafting in close coordination with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). Works under the direction of the Program Manager and the designated SME lead for the Air Program, contributing to a high-quality, well-integrated environmental program in support of the Environmental Protection Branch.

Environmental Scientist – Air QualityResponsibilities Include:
Support management and compliance of the NSWC Crane Title V Air Permit, including tracking permit conditions, deadlines, and emission limits for NSA Crane and Lake Glendora.
Prepare draft permit application documents for new permits, amendments, modifications, and renewals, including summaries of significant and insignificant emission units, potential emissions calculations, permit forms, and redline permit drafts.
Environmental Scientist – Air QualityExperience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
1–4 years of relevant experience in air quality compliance, permitting, or regulatory reporting in an industrial, federal, or DoD environment.
Working knowledge of criteria pollutants and hazardous air pollutant (HAP) regulatory frameworks, emission calculation methodologies (AP-42 factors, TANKS, WATER9, or similar tools).
Ability to draft technical compliance documents, regulatory correspondence, SOPs, and inspection reports.
