Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced Superintendent with current Public Works Construction industry related work experience. This position will be the on-site project supervisor ensuring work is performed safely, in accordance with plans and specifications, and in compliance with all codes and regulations. Reporting to the President, this person must have the ability to work independently, provide constructability problem-solving, onsite quality control throughout the project, and manage the entire field crew, including subcontractors and suppliers. Additionally, this person must be able to be professional, work collaboratively with others, provide excellent communication, team-building and mentoring skills and complete projects on time and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of the Superintendent is to lead the team to produce a high-quality product while observing all safety requirements throughout the course of the project.
- Leadership: The Superintendent has primary responsibility for the day-to-day progress and quality of projects assigned.
o This position provides leadership and communication throughout all internal departments as well as the subcontractors on site. They must be highly skilled in planning, scheduling, time management, negotiation, analytical and problem-resolution, leadership, and motivation.
o Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
o Schedule, attend, and document meetings throughout the course of the project to address schedule, progress, obstacles, and questions as needed.
o Ability to understand and manage all trades as related to the assigned project. Communicate clearly with subcontractors, address questions, provide feedback and stay current with all progress.
- Utilize Procore Construction Management Software for project documentation and tracking, such as Daily Logs, Safety Meetings, RFIs, Submittals, Change Order Management, Timesheets etc.
- Assist with Project Management including but not limited to:
o Scheduling: Create and/or maintain master schedule for projects assigned. Provide and facilitate communication between FRC crew, management, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, construction management, and owners.
o Inventory and order supplies to facilitate just in time delivery.
o Weekly expense management to include review, coding, and approval of invoices and credit card receipts.
o Utilize T&M tags to track time and material costs to bill the owner as needed.
o Read Plans, perform take-offs, and provide estimates.
oAssess staffing requirements during each phase of the project. Requestdispatches when required. Be involved in new employee on-boarding.Review training, certificates, and skill levels to appropriately assign tasks.
oMaintain carpenter/apprentice ratios and skilled and trained workforceratios for projects as required.
oSubmit weekly timesheets for all FRC, Inc. staff working on assignedprojects.
oDocument and communicate near miss incidents.
oKnowledge of all safety guidelines and procedures as outlined in the safetyhandbook.
oDelegate safety tasks as needed but maintain ownership and oversight.
oLead weekly tailgate meetings, document as described in safety manual.
oPerform job site hazard inspections as needed.
oAttend trainings as required and get certified on equipment as needed.
oObserve, train, and mentor apprentices. Ensure apprentices have thetraining and experience to perform tasks.
